10 Unique DIY S'more Creations: Happy National S'mores Day!

If there's any tasty campfire treat that deserves an entire day of recognition, it's the gooey and delightful s'more. This dessert is like a tiny, yet flavorful, sandwich containing roasted marshmallow and melted chocolate compressed between two crispy graham crackers.

National S'mores Day is celebrated annually on August 10th. The origin of this yummy treat is somewhat unclear, but it seems as though the original recipe for s'mores, referred to here as "some mores," can be found in a 1927 Girl Scout handbook called Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts.

Since the original version of the s'more was created, people have put their own twist on this mini sticky sandwich. Instead of the traditional marshmallow and chocolate fillings, some prefer peanut butter or caramel between their graham crackers. There's even creations like s'moreos where you add Oreos to the middle of the traditional s'more, and s'more cake and pie recipes! We hunted down the most unique s'more creations out there in honor of National S'mores Day!
