Key West Lamp Candle - Brings Beauty to any room in your home - Make great gifts.
Since trade with Cuba ended in the 50's, Key West Lamps have become collectibles and are almost impossible to find. Key West Trading Company is pleased to offer Key West-designed lamps made by glass artisans in Mexico that reflect the warmth of the lamps used in the last half of the 20th century. To set these lamps apart, these 3.5" x 8.5" cylinders are poured with fragrant candle wax here in the USA- a jar candle that is not a typical jar candle.
History and lore describe a Key West Lamp as a faceted glass cylinder used for protecting burning candles from the elements. Most ranged from 3-6" in diameter and 4-15" in height. Key West Lamps were manufactured with cut glass designs that create a diamond-like sparkle with many facets of reflective light. Many of the Key West Lamps of the 40's and 50's were made in Cuba and brought to the US via ferries that steamed between Havana and Key West.
During the turn of the century, Key West became a haven for writers and artists such as Hemingway, Audobon, and Williams who made Key West their home. The artists and writers cherished Key West Lamps as designs in light.
Enjoy candlelight with all the warmth, history, and beauty that is reflected through a Key West Lamp by the Key West Trading Company. Try yours today. You will love the beauty of these candles.
