How to Relax with an Epsom Salt Bath

One of my favorite ways to relax on the weekend is with a bubble bath. The hot, steamy water is soothing to my sore muscles, and the bubbles are just fun! But, beyond metal relaxation, bubble bathes don’t have many more health benefits. However, if you love to soak, relaxing in an Epsom Salt bath will leave you refreshed and greatly benefit your body.

Rich in magnesium and sulfates, as you relax in the water, these minerals are absorbed into your body through your skin. Magnesium is important in body functions like muscle control and energy creation. And, most of us are deficient in magnesium! Foods high in magnesium are usually rare in our daily diet: bran,  squash, almonds, and soy beans to name a few. Magnesium helps with joint pain, fatigue, and digestive maladies, and when we don’t get enough, we miss out on these benefits. So, we could use all the help we can get for attaining extra magnesium.

Sulfates are great for forming proteins in the body and detoxification. Environmental toxins as well as toxins from medications or foods will run your body into the ground, and sulfates serve to dispose of that waste from your body.

So, a warm bath with two cups of Epsom Salt a couple of times a week will greatly benefit you. You can find Epsom Salt at your local Walmart or Walgreens. And, if you’re interested in some relaxation music to aid your Epsom Salt bath, you can click here.
