For the Cabin: Black Bear Themed Fountains

Black bears are common in North American, and one of the few species of bears which are not “threatened” or “endangered” according to the IUCN. Revered by indigenous people groups of North America, the black bear was a symbol of strength and greatness. A graceful and typically non-confrontational species, they’re definitely a beautiful animal. In fact, the famous Winnie the Pooh was based on a young black bear cub. Winnipeg AKA Winnie was a black bear who was smuggled to Britain during the First World War and lived at the London Zoo. A.A. Milne’s son, Christopher Robin, became quite the fan of Winnie and consequently named his teddy bear “Winnie the Pooh” which led to his father’s famous stories.
