Adding Wall Water Fountains to Your Space
Many people think that wall water falls are hard to maintain or that they are too expensive for their tastes, but the truth is that they are not. Wall water falls can be so soothing in any environment, whether you choose to install them inside the home or outside on the patio or other exterior wall. When you are planning on putting one in, there are a few things to think about, however.
First of all,, you want to consider the load bearing capacity of the wall. Most water fall fountains will specifically state the weight that the fountain will be when it is properly filled. Your wall should be able to accommodate this weight. You should be able to hand the fountain from studs in the wall, so you may need to determine where those are before buying your fountain, since your wall studs may not be located where you want them to be. You can invariably reinforce the wall, too, which is a bit more expensive but worth it in the end.
We added a fountain like this in our foyer, which made a lot of sense for us because we were looking for something different, and something that would catch the eye the minute people came into the home. We have a small sitting area there for taking off your shoes, and it is quite tranquil to sit for a moment to absorb the sights and sounds of the falling water. But if I had it to do over, I would have put the fountain somewhere that we could enjoy it better – or should that be – more often. Be sure that you want the fountain in the spot where you put it, since it will take extra effort to move it.
