We recommend a bead filler like the Virgin Bead for children's bean bags as opposed to a foam filler because small children aren't heavy enough to form the foam in foam-filled bean bag chairs.

A bean bag should not be completely filled. A full bean bag should only be 2/3 to 3/4 full, leaving space for the fill to move and expand. For example, a bean bag that is 37" x 42" x 34" will need about 10 cubic ft. of fill, if empty, or 5 cubic ft. if a third of the way full.
